Osteoporosis and Fracture Prevention and Management

Osteoporosis makes the bones fragile and more likely to break. Robust management and fracture prevention strategies are key to improving the quality of life of those with the condition, as well as reducing health and social care costs. Our Osteoporosis and Fracture Prevention and Management course provides essential knowledge and skills.

One in two women and one in five men are at risk of osteoporosis. When bones are fragile, fractures can occur in any part of the body, but fractures are most common in the wrist, spine and hip. The risk of hip fracture from a fall increases after age 70 or 80.
